Privacy Policy
SafePickup helps daycare centres record child drop-off and pickup. We take the privacy of children and families seriously. This policy explains what we store and why.
What we collect
Child name, date of birth, gender, a 4-digit check-in PIN, and the parent/guardian name and mobile number — provided by the daycare when registering a child. We also record check-in / check-out events (time, and the name of the person dropping off or picking up, if entered).
How we use it
Solely to operate attendance: verifying a child at check-in/out, showing the daycare their attendance, and (optionally) notifying the registered parent mobile of a check-in/out. We do not sell data or use it for advertising.
How it's protected
Child PINs and staff passwords are hashed (bcrypt) and never stored in plain text. All traffic is over HTTPS. Access to records requires a staff login, and repeated failed attempts are rate-limited.
Consent (children's data)
The daycare confirms it has the parent/guardian's consent before registering a child. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, processing a child's personal data requires verifiable parental consent and prohibits tracking or targeted advertising — which we do not do.
Retention & your rights
Records are kept for as long as the child is enrolled. A parent or guardian may ask the daycare to export or permanently deletetheir child's data at any time; staff can action both from the child's page.
